Recipe Contest Winners

Congratulations to our recipe contest winners - Pam Wegner for her Sweet Potato Biscuits and Tara Sanders for her Vegetarian Tamale Pie. The Sweet Potato Biscuits will be served October 11th for breakfast and the Vegetarian Tamale Pie will offered on October 13th as part of National School Lunch Week. Tara is a parent at Lincoln Elementary and will be there to help serve. The recipe contest was held this last spring as an opportunity for parents and the community to submit healthy recipes for possible inclusion in our school menus. Many thanks go out to all of the parents and community members who submitted recipes.

Recipe Contest June 1 - 16

We are looking for Healthy, Cost Effective, Easy to Prepare, Kid Friendly recipes. Each recipe must be complete with serving size, # of servings, instructions, from scratch (no boxed or readymade items), & capable of being converted to larger sizes. The recipes can be emailed to kathy.adair@corvallis.k12.or.us or returned to your school kitchen. Please include name, phone # and email address. Contest begins June 1st and ends June 16th. Recipe winners will be notified and have their recipes used during the school year on our elemantary menus.

Historic Willamette River Float Promotes Locally Grown Grain & Beans - On August 19 - 21, 2010 a fleet of boats will leave Eugene to pick up locally grown grain and beans in Harrisburg and carry them to Corvallis Saturday Farmers Market on Saturday August 21 from 10 am to 1 pm.
